SHopp Aotearoa is a newsletter for sexual health providers in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
Te Puāwai Tapu has been providing behind-the-scenes assistance to produce an online version which went live in June 2014.
Anyone working in the sector is welcome to subscribe using by clicking on the link (registration is required).
Te Puāwai Tapu is proud to sponsor the Clinical Services to Rangatahi Māori Award which is conferred at the New Zealand Sexual Health Society Annual Conference.
We are seeking applications from organisations or services that have successfully trialled or implemented a new, evidence-informed ‘component’ of an existing clinical STI treatment service or programme.
Another project in development is an online resource repository ‘Tō Tātou Rourou’.
The name comes from the Māori whakatauki (proverb) ‘Nā tō rourou nā taku rourou – ka ora ai te iwi’ (With your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive). It was chosen to represent bringing together the collective baskets of knowledge of Māori sexual and reproductive health into an online resource.
Te Puāwai Tapu is developing five statements detailing the organisation’s position on sexuality, sexuality education, sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy (including artificial reproductive technologies), and pregnancy termination. Each statement is underpinned by recent relevant published research and underpinned by the cultural values of Te Puāwai Tapu.
